This characterful quarry is the jewel-in-the-crown of climbing on Bodmin Moor – just don’t be put off by tall tales of run-out epics, there is plenty of scope for safe climbing at a variety of grades!

The compact granite can sometimes be wet and greasy; but when dry, a variety of grades can be climbed, including a number of entertaining multi-pitch routes.

There are also convenient outcrops for top-roping – you will often find climbing centre parties in the quarry when the weather is good.

It is easily accessible, being about 4 or 5 miles from the A38. If you’re coming from the north, get off at Liskeard and head through St. Cleer to Minions. From the south, get off at Doublebois and again follow the signs to Minions. Drive through the quaint village of Minions, past the Cheesewring pub on your right, and park in the car park on the left. The path to the quarry starts to the right of a barn and is about a 10 minute walk.

NOTE: There has been a large increase in activity here recently, including the re-equipment of some existing routes with in-situ protection and even the addition of some new, bolted routes.
